DANCE PARADE NYC

May 16th 2026

dance as an expressive and unifying art form by celebrating the diversity

description

Dance Parade New York is the NYC’s biggest dance event and the only parade that exclusively celebrates the diversity of dance. This annual event features tens of thousands of dancers and spectators, showcasing over 100 dance styles with nearly 200 dance groups. This year, sarAika movement collective was invited to perform as a guest dance company. The parade starts at Avenue of the Americas and 17th Street, traveling south and turning east on 8th Street, where Emcee Jerry Goldman introduces each group for their “40 Second” showcase at the Grandstand. It continues to Saint Marks Place, concluding at Avenue A. The celebration spills into the park for DanceFest, offering performances on the main stage and site specific performances, dance lessons, workshops, and activities for all ages.

DANCE PARADE NEW YORK is a non-profit organization. Our mission is to promote dance as an expressive and unifying art form by celebrating the diversity. We believe that live dance performance can awaken a communal human spirit and has the potential to create a more equitable and vibrant society.
